Casa Cucina for Upendo Daima
Do you also notice that talks on poverty and developing aid do pop up during dinner, leading to the conclusion that something has to be done? In Oud Beijerland a circle of friends has found a good solution. Marjan van der Leer organises every month a diner for friends and acquaintances, costing 25 euro each person. Part of the money is to prepare a delicious meal, part is for charity. It may be for the projects in the slums in South Africa, schools in Uganda or a hospice in the region. On Sunday the 28th the work of Upendo Daima was on the menu, resulting in a gift of 200 euro for our project. We are now going to buy rice and beans for our children of course, which is getting more and more expensive due to the food price crisis. How magnificent such an initiative, thank you very much. May be it is an idea for others too, to organize this with their friends. If you are interested, we could contact you with Marjan to hear from her how she is organizes such events.
