Alexi lived with his family on an island in Lake Victoria. His parents made a living from fishing, but they were not rich. One day, they decided to move to another island. They left Alexi and his brother behind. Alexi tried to join other families, but he was too young to work, so no one wanted him. That’s how Alexi ended up on the streets of Mwanza.
Alexi has now been living in Malimbe Family for a while. Despite many attempts, the social workers have not yet been able to find his family. He is now attending a local school and can participate in the first national exams next year. His dream is to one day be reunited with his family. We are doing everything we can to make this happen!
