The story of Mazumilu
October 2013
Last year our street workers found Muzamilu, a very young boy strolling on the street and trying to survive with begging and stealing. We brought him to the Back Home House and our team started the process of counseling to get to know him and did home visiting to seek for his family. He is lonely, quiet and stammering may be because of his handicap, a head deformation since he was born. We came to know that he ran away from his aunt who was taking care of him. But she was not good with children, not even for her own children. The time we visited her house she was in jail...
The chairman visits Mwanza
In September I had the opportunity to visit Upendo Daima again and to see the progress with my own eyes. A lot has been achieved during the past year. Because mama Lukuba passed away earlier this year a new financial officer has been recruited and as from end 2012 the new assistant coordinator has been active. It was very good to meet them personally and work with. The team is very enthusiastic and many children have been able to return to their parents or families.
It was very good to personally meet all employees again, including the new staff that started early this year...
16 straatkinderen treden op
Augustus 2013
